Are you a new or intermediate communications professional seeking an opportunity to learn and grow in your career?
The IABC/Calgary Mentorship Program may be just what you’re looking for. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get support and counsel throughout the year from a senior communicator in the IABC/Calgary community.
If you are interested in becoming a mentee, please complete the Mentee Application Form.
To apply to be a Mount Royal University (MRU) Public Relations/Communications student mentee, start here.
Apply now for the upcoming 2019-2020 cohort in the IABC/Calgary Mentorship Program!
The call for applications for the 2019-2020 cohort is open until Oct. 29, 2019.
The Mentorship Committee carefully considers each mentor and mentee application and aims to match for fit. Once mentors and mentees are matched, each is notified and they have an opportunity to meet at the kick-off event in mid-fall.
What level of commitment is involved?
During the six month mentorship cycle (November-April), you will keep in touch with your mentor in a format that works for both of you (face-to-face, email, phone, etc.). You will be able to share the goals and objectives you wish to achieve with your mentor.
We will provide you with resources to help generate meeting ideas and get the most out of your experience with your mentor. The time commitment is approximately one hour per month.
New this year!
Mentors and mentees alike will have the opportunity to give a total of three hours of their time to a student aspiring to be a communicator. Sign up for this opportunity on your application form.
Any other details to note?
You must be an IABC/Calgary member to participate in the program. To become an IABC member or renew your membership, start here.
Participation in the program is subject to availability. Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot in the cohort.
