As a Communications Strategist, you will lead, develop, implement and continuously improve communications/marketing activities for City initiatives, programs and services. Primary duties include:
• Develop, oversee and manage the delivery of strategic communications plans that support corporate, business unit, and client objectives and goals. This may require persuading or influencing clients to accept recommended approaches.
• Lead multiple communications projects that includes conducting clients’ needs assessments; supporting project charters and business plans, including identifying and managing communications resources, scope and timelines; and assigning and directing the work of ad-hoc and standing project teams.
• Provide expertise to colleagues and clients with respect to campaigns, crises, issues and projects. This includes proactively identifying opportunities and best practices; recommending channels, mediums, products and services; and contributing to issues management.
• Develop a variety of resources and materials, such as key messages and proof points, for use on a variety of mediums (for example: digital, media and social media) and channels.Qualifications
• A completed 2-year diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field, and at least 8 years of experience in areas such as marketing, communications and strategic planning; OR
• A degree in any of the disciplines listed above (or closely related) fields, and at least 6 years of experience as outlined above.
• Designation(s) from recognized professional communications or marketing associations, such as: Certified Marketing Management Professional, Accredited Business Communicator, Accreditation in Public Relations, Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional, Communications Management Professional, Strategic Communication Management Professional or Certified Campaign Planning Program are an asset.
• Competencies required for success in this position include: customer service, consulting, insight and analysis, project management, issues management, leadership, interpersonal skills and relationship building, and communications.
• The successful candidate will have the ability to apply business knowledge and logic, be politically sensitive, collaborate with multiple partners, and respond to multiple and conflicting priorities.Pre-employment Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Social Media Advisor to join our Communications team!
Reporting to the Leader of Reputation and Member Engagement, your primary goal is to develop and guiding the execution of Servus’ social media strategy. This position is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of social media content planning and creation, production coordination, content posting, and community management.
The incumbent will be adept at telling the Servus story by planning, writing and coordinating social media content that enhances Servus’ external presence and reputation.
More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Formulate and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that engages members and is aligned with organizational goals, storytelling program and brand.
· Provide social media expertise and counsel across the Division and organization to ensure that organizational needs are served in alignment with the social media strategy and brand.
· Lead the implementation of social media content that enhances Servus’ reputation and drives brand awareness, engagement, and growth.
· Oversee and provide direction to our external vendor that supplies social media support services.
· Provide direction and support to the Communications Advisor who executes social media content creation, posting and community management.
· Manage a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting across all social media platforms.
· Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice, reflecting the Servus brand to enhance the credit union’s reputation.
· Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and other divisions to align content with broader campaigns and initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
· expert knowledge of current social media trends, technologies and platforms, and be able to use this understanding to create a compelling story that is told across Servus’ social media channels.
· possess strong leadership, strategic thinking and planning abilities.
· excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills to ensure the social media team produces high-quality and engaging content.
· Proficient in social media management tools and analytics is essential to monitor performance and optimize strategies.
· ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and know how to provide effective direction to others, ensuring alignment and integration of social media efforts with broader organizational goals.
· strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Education:
· Degree or diploma in communications, public relations or a related field.
· IABC certification or accreditation and/or CPRS accreditation preferred.
· 8+ years of communications experience, including at least 5 years of social media experience.
