Professional communicators from across Canada were recognized this month for outstanding work in communication management and skills with receipt of a Silver Leaf Award from the Canada West and East Regions of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The esteemed Silver Leaf Awards recognize a strategic approach to communications programs conducted by professional communicators in more than 40 categories, including brand communications, internal communications, writing, and issues management. Of the more than 110 entries submitted in 2015, 48 entrants were honoured with a Silver Leaf Award – three of which were from Calgary.
TransCanada Corporation and the Alberta Securities Commission were recipients in the Internal Communication category for their employee campaigns, while FGL Sports/Sport Check were recognized for their digital project in the Marketing Communication category.
“The professional communicators recognized this year demonstrated exceptional skills in planning and delivering strategic communication programs,” says Kathleen Bell, ABC, Chair, IABC Canada West Region. “The caliber of entries was exceptional. We are pleased to recognize the hard work of each winning entrant and their significant accomplishment in achieving this prestigious award.”

Canada’s national Silver Leaf Awards program is managed jointly by the Canada East and Canada West Regions. Canadian members represent approximately 38% of IABC’s global membership.
