Kristen Dyck, Director of Volunteer Services
This week (April 24 – 30, 2022) we celebrate National Volunteer Week and we want to give a special shout out to the people at the heart of IABC/Calgary: our volunteers.
As the Director of Volunteer Services, I am constantly amazed by the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. IABC/Calgary is entirely volunteer-run. We have so much gratitude and appreciation for the people who contribute and go above and beyond.
Volunteers give their time and energy to help us achieve our purpose which is to create and sustain meaningful connections within our communications community and to make each other better.
We think of conferences and events as a way to network, but I believe volunteering is the ultimate form of networking. As a volunteer, you really get to know other volunteers in our association. Friendships are made, support is given and advice about our work is shared.
From mentorship to managing Career Line, and from editing the newsletter to supporting our sponsors, our volunteers flex their skills to provide the services our members rely on. Our award-winning professional association would not exist without them.
Thank you, volunteers, for all that you do!
Volunteering with IABC is a great way to grow your network and add skills to your resume. We’re looking for key volunteer roles right now – apply today!
