More than 100 communicators got the holiday season off to a great start on December 7th at the CPRS & IABC Calgary Annual Holiday Event.
If I told you the event was held at the Kensington Legion, what would you picture? Not this airy membership lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Kensington Road. The lounge feels like a private room attached to an upscale, modern restaurant, which in a way it is: 1918 Tap & Table, the public ground-floor restaurant, catered the event and kept the crowd fed with a firecracker shrimp, chicken wings, and other treats, along with a well-stocked cash bar.
But it wasn’t all about the food and drink, it was about the conversations. The room was buzzing, so loud you could hear the hum of conversation when you stepped off the elevator. Combining the two organizations leads to lively conversations since you run into people you wouldn’t meet at IABC events. But we’re all communicators so we have lots to talk about. Everyone was open and friendly and ready to chat with new faces. It was a great way to kick off the 2017 holiday season.
