It’s time to celebrate! We are celebrating the journey of communications over the last half century. Here’s what we’re planning…
Thank you to everyone who attended our gala on January 28 2017 at WinSport to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary. Here’s a snapshot of what happened that night!
A video tribute
Check-out our 50th Anniversary video and let some of our members tell you why they love IABC/Calgary!
Sharing our history
Throughout 2017, we will be sharing stories and memories about the history of IABC/Calgary and how communications has evolved and changed over the past 50 years. Have a story to share? Contact Ali Abel, co-director of member communications.
Expanding our knowledge
We will be launching an education video series in 2017. These interviews will offer tips and information about communications strategy and tactics. If you have some knowledge to share or are interested in being involved, contact our 50th anniversary committee co-directors, Sharon Lee and Jolene Ondrik.
Bringing together past board members
We are planning a special event to bring together as many past presidents and Board members to share stories and insights about volunteering for IABC/Calgary. The event will be held in the spring. If you are a past Board member and are interested in being involved, contact our 50th anniversary committee co-directors, Jolene Ondrik and Sharon Lee.
Leaving a legacy
We are working on an endowment fund to establish a legacy award for the next three years. The award will provide a deserving IABC/Calgary member with the gift of knowledge by providing funding for attending an IABC conference, furthering their communications education at an academic institution or taking part in a professional development program. We are looking for organizations to partner with us in establishing the award.
Recognizing 50 years of volunteering
At our year-end event we are going to be recognizing our volunteers with a special tribute to those who have volunteered with IABC/Calgary over the past 50 years. Our chapter would not be where it is today, without the help and support of people who have generously given their time.
