All spots are currently full for the 2017/18 year. Please inquire in September 2018 if you would like to participate.
This program is for new to intermediate IABC/Calgary communicators with a current (or recent) job in the industry who are seeking an opportunity to learn and grow with support and counsel from an IABC/Calgary senior communicator. If you are interested in becoming a mentee, please complete the Mentee Application Form.
The Mentorship Committee carefully considers each mentor and mentee application and strives to make the most beneficial matches for both parties. Once mentors and mentees are matched, each is notified and they have an opportunity to meet at the kick-off event in October.
During the mentorship term (October to June), you will keep in touch with your mentor in a format that works for both of you (face-to-face, email, phone, etc.). You will be able to share the goals and objectives you wish to achieve with your mentor. We will provide you with resources to help generate meeting ideas and get the most out of your experience with your mentor.
The time commitment is approximately one hour per month.
Please note that applying for this program does not guarantee being matched with a mentor. An IABC representative will contact you to advise you of the match or to review other programs more suitable to your needs.
Note – Current IABC membership is required to participate in the program.
If you have any questions, please contact Julia Perkins. Thank you for your interest in IABC/Calgary’s mentor program.
